Our services supply two Houses in London

PICT was created as a strategic response to the previously fragmented
planning and implementation of ICT to support the business of Parliament
and its Members. The department was created on 1 January 2006 and is unique
in being the only department to be jointly owned by both Houses, equally
responsible to the Clerk of the Parliaments (chief executive in the House
of Lords) and the Clerk of the House (chief executive in the House of
Commons).
PICT strives to provide excellent IT services to MPs, Peers and staff across Parliament. PICT support both MPs and Peers in electronic communication and information which helps them to undertake their work in a fast moving, mobile environment. It also supports a wide range of business critical systems that are vital to the work of the Houses. These systems are core to running the procedures and knowledge base of the house, as well as to managing the organisation and infrastructure. People in Parliament have high expectations from IT, both in what it can do and in its security and availability. It is PICT’s purpose to develop a service that can meet these expectations.
As a Department, the aim is to work together, across functions, and with a common purpose. Our REAL Values reflect that the fact that we aim to: treat each other with respect, work towards excellent performance, be accountable for our actions and as an organisation develop a culture of continuous learning.
